The person who nominated Kevin says she did so because “he is a fearless leader. He has successfully led a team/staff at the Boys and Girls Club of Portage County since 2002 and although the seasons have changed, he has remained constant and committed to the kids in our community. As a boss, he leads by example as a hard worker who isn't afraid to do any job. He is wise and thoughtful in the way he leads the organization. Our community is better because of him. He is humble and has the best interests of his team and our local kids in mind. I only hope to be half the leader he is one day.”

Kevin is from the Green Bay area originally. He attended the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater to pursue teaching. Shortly after graduation he landed a job at the Boys and Girls Club in Green Bay, where he worked for three years and then was offered a promotion at the Wausau BGC where he worked another three years. He then applied for the Executive Director position at BGC in Portage County, where he has been for the past 17 years.

The mission of the Boys and Girls Club is “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens”.

Kevin find working for BGC very rewarding he loves all the parts of his job whether it is administrative work, teaching or helping to inspire and shape young lives.

Kevin has faced many adversities which he has met head on.  He took a leap of faith coming to a new club and building it form the ground up. He had many sleepless nights worrying about making payroll and hiring good people. He just trusted in the community.
